Injection Mold Manufacturer

Injection molding is a manufacturing process allowing low volume to mass production of parts. This is done by injecting molten material into a mold. Injection molding can be performed with many varieties of materials, typically thermoplastic or thermoset. The material for the part is fed into a heated barrel, plasticized using a helical screw, and injected under pressure into a mold cavity via gate and runner system. There it then “cures” to the configuration of the mold detail.

Not only does Moldtronics produce the parts, but we also build all our own tools under the same roof. This saves our clients time and money.

STRENGTH

Plastic resins have advanced immensely throughout the years allowing for increased strength and lower weight. These engineered resins can endure some of the harshest environments and even at times outperform their counterparts made from aluminum/steel/etc. There is almost an endless amount of highly engineered resins to choose from.

Metal to Plastic Conversion Opportunities

Many OEMs across disciplines & industries remain leveraging the benefits of metal-to-plastic conversion. The ability to have faster manufacturing cycles and higher volumes while retaining tolerances and strength can make the conversion to plastic parts very attractive.

Frequently Asked Questions

While the start-up cost can be expensive, the price for the project becomes more favorable the higher the run quantity becomes. When comparing to other processes, plastic injection molding is one of the most cost-effective.
The entire process is extremely fast and typically ranges from a couple of seconds to a couple of minutes.

Most injection molding machinery can produce parts ranging from 2mm x 4mm up to maximum part sizes of 4' x 4'
